Post Exchange Assistant

We are actively looking to appoint a Post-Exchange/Legal Secretary to join our expanding conveyancing department.

The role will involve assisting and supporting a lawyer/fee earner and handling conveyancing transaction cases following the point of exchange of contracts.  The main duties will include: administrative responsibilities and file preparation after exchange has taken place; completion day procedures; submitting and paying stamp duty land tax; registration with the HM Land Registry: finalising any post-registration matters, including assisting with file closing procedures and being aware of time schedules to undertake such tasks.

Whilst previous conveyancing experience is not essential, as full training will be given; experience of working in a busy office environment is essential.   The candidate must have a friendly and professional attitude and be keen to learn thereby complying with the required legal procedures.

The role would suit someone who is organised, accurate and has excellent attention to detail.  You would be working in an open plan environment in an existing team of 12; salary will be dependent on experience.

Role Requirements:

Essential:

  • At least two years experience working in an office environment
  • Educated to A Level Standard
  • GCSE’s including English & Maths
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise your workload
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competent in using IT packages such as MS Office, including Word and Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a conveyancing post

Legal Secretary – Personal Injury Team

We are actively looking to appoint an experienced Personal Injury Legal Secretary to join our team.

The role will involve assisting and supporting the fee earners providing exemplary secretarial services.  This role involves more than just typing and basic secretarial/admin duties, it will provide you with an opportunity to expand on your skills and knowledge by undertaking duties such as drafting court documents and preparing trial bundles and precedent H form’s as well as producing documents using digital dictation and case management systems.

Previous experience as a Legal Secretary is essential; you must have a friendly and professional attitude, be adaptable and willing to take on more complex workloads, subject to training, whilst working closely with the Solicitors/Legal Executives.

The role would suit someone who is organised, works well under pressure, accurate, has an aptitude for learning and excellent attention to detail. The candidate should have strong spoken and written communication skills and must also work well independently and as part of a team in order to meet deadlines.

Candidates must be able to type at least 70 words per minute and may be required to undertake a typing & proof reading test. Excellent IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Office is essential and candidates must also possess 4 GCSE grades C or above including English and Maths.

You would be working in a friendly open plan office with 13 others and will be responsible for supporting 4 fee earners in a busy fast paced environment.

Salary: Dependant on experience

Residential Conveyancer – Non-Contentious Team

Due to expansion, we have an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our Non-Contentious team in dealing with residential conveyancing transactions. You should have the experience of managing a comprehensive case load at a good quality Firm. You must have excellent communication and organisation skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

Family Solicitor / Legal Executive

Job Type              Permanent, 37.5hrs p/w

Due to expansion, we have an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor or Legal Executive with a background in Family Law. You should have experience of managing a comprehensive case load, with a minimum of 5 years PQE, at a good quality Firm.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of dealing and assisting with complex family law caseloads including Matrimonial, Divorce, Ancillary Relief and Children Matters. You must have excellent communication and organisation skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
